Hughes Creek Cemetery - Fresno County, California
Located on Hughes Creek about three miles north of Pine Flat Highway, in the
area known as "Upper Kings River," the cemetery is on land once owned by Henry
Akers, who, after John Hughes, was the first settler. The property was later occupied
by the Fike family, whose son married one of the Akers daughters. The cemetery is
also known at this time as "The Akers Cemetery."
