Teel, James A. and Lula (Haydock)

He was born in 1859 in Denton County, Texas and came across the plains and settled in Garden Grove in 1870. The trip to Texas took nine months. There were three children, Courtney, Ethyl and James. Courtney was the first Anglo-American born in Long Beach. Ethyl (Van Houghton) was an operator for the Home Telephone Company and is living in Long Beach.
