Walker, Charles J. and Carrie (Ziegler)
He was born in New York in 1869, came to California in 1889 and moved to Long Beach in 1895. He operated an independent real estate business and as he prospered he broadened his interests. He became president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank which was founded in 1907. Charles married Carrie D. Ziegler and had four children. C.Y. Walker is a practicing attorney in the city and with children and grandchildren. Gus A. Walker is president of the Farmers and Merchants Bank and also has children and grandchildren, The Walker family has been associated with civic affairs within the city and in the finest tradition.
