To my brother, Roy Michael Hotchkiss, who died at eighteen years of age at Arbuckle, Colusa County, California on 24 November 1967.

To my mother, Arthada Louetta Sternes, who was born in Williams, Colusa County.

To my great-grandparents, Marshall Clifton and Deett Almyra Austin Rogers, who are both buried at Grand Island Cemetery in Grimes, and to the many of my now deceased relatives who lived in and loved Colusa County.
