CAGenWeb "Nuts &
The California GenWeb is composed of Volunteers who have
a desire to find, format and present local genealogical &
historical resources for visiting researchers. As such, there are a
few requirements to be a County Coordinator.

In addition to the above, the CAGenWeb
has a simple set of guidelines:
1. Each County Site shall
have a logo that is representative of the State of California on
their main entry page.
This logo shall link back to the main
State Page: http://cagenweb.com
2. Each County Site shall
have an approved USGW logo prominently displayed and linked to The USGenWeb on their entry page.
3. Each County Site shall have a
brief history of their particular county included on their entry
4. Each County Site shall have an area on one of their
pages for queries. This can be links to outside query sites or a
self-maintained query section.
5. Each County Site shall have
an introductory paragraph with the name of the County Coordinator
and a way to reach them for questions.
6. Each County page
shall have a footer that contains an explanation of copyright, a
listing of the CAGW Admin Team and a date stamp.
History of the USGenWeb
The California GenWeb was formed by
Richard S Wilson in 1996: He was State Coordinator until 2004 as
well as the financier.
From 2002 on, the CAGW has been self
supported by the
