Qrytext: My ancestor William Dows REXFORD (1800-1875)moved to Smith
River, Del Norte County, CA from Benton County, OR between 1870 and 1875.
He came to California with his wife, Laura A. HAMILTON (1808-1885) and
their sons John Paul REXFORD (1830-1903) and William Riley REXFORD (b.
abt 1836, d. after 1879). He died in Del Norte County in 1875. Does anyone
know where William is buried? His daughter, Laura Ann Rexford BENNETT,
may also have moved to Del Norte County with some of her sons -- Freed,
William, and John BENNETT. The 3 Bennett sons later moved away from Del
Norte County (after 1925). John Paul Rexford, whose wife was Mary "Polly"
WOODY, died in Crescent City, CA. Nothing further is known about him. William
Riley Rexford was administrator for his father's estate in 1879, but disappears
from the records after that.

I was born at Seaside Hospital in 1958 and taken to Klameth by my parents,
EDWARD WISENBARGER and BONNIE JEANETTE DUCKWORTH. (She may have used her
step-fathers last name which was HOLTE.) My Grandparents were GILMAN and
BILLIE HOLTE and my uncles and aunts:DOUGLAS DUCKWORTH, WAYNE DUCKWORTH,
LAWRENCE DUCKWORTH, JACKIE (PAUL) DUCKWORTH & GERALDINE HOLTE. Does
anyone remember them? Other family members are lited in the name section
above. We lived on "the circle" until the flood in 1965 when we lost everything
and moved to Cresent City. No pictures or other memerobilia has made things
difficult from a research standpoint. My Grandpa worked for Simpson as
did most of my relatives. My Grandmother owned the Jippo Cafe in town for
a time. My name at birth was EVA JEANETTE WISENBARGER but the family called
me EVA JAY. If you have any information that would help me recreate our

George LeClair died April 8, 1913 in Crescent City .... my Uncle
has a newpaper clipping saying he was buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Also George's Daughter .... Nora E. Stevenson ... died May 23, 1916
in Ashland Oregon, death certificate says burial in I.O.O.F. Crescent City
and my Uncle has another newspaper clipping saying the same.We were able
to find another of George's daughter's buried next to her first husband
a Moore.... her name was Sarah Catherine LeClair Moore ???? born
February 17, 1892 and died September 28, 1987. I have written the local
I.O.O.F. Lodge in Crescent City, and they had no records for George or
Nora graves. Do you know of any place that may have a plot map of
I.O.O.F. Section of the Cemetery?? Also I would be happy to share any info
I have on George LeClair and his family in Crescent City.

census of Del Norte County,Crescent Twp.CA as Superior Court Judge of Del
Norte County,CA.James E died in Crescent City,CA in 1898. His paternal
grandmothr Mary(?)Commins is a sister of Matthew,Walter,and Fr.John Commins
of Inch,Parish of Borris,County Carlow Ireland. Their parents were Simon
Commins and Catherine Ryan.Fr.John Commins came to Canada in 1824 and was
the first RC resident priest in St.Andrews,New Brunswick.Many of his nieces
and nephews immigrated to New Brunswick and Maine between 1830-1850. I
am descended from Matthew Commins ,brother of Mary(?) Commins Murphy.I

My dad GUS FOWLER built it and named it PUNKY's because that was my mom's
nickname. I can remember sitting on the counter eating the home made dough.
They made the best hamburgers, etc. They also employed many students. If
anyone could find a newspaper article or any pictures I would be very grateful.
I will pay for copies and postage. My father GUS passed away in 1977 and
I would really like to share these memories with my children. My dad also
ran the drive-in theater there, I do not know the years in which he did
this as I was very young. Does anyone remember the FOWLER's GUS, Marvel

Qrytext: I am trying to trace the family of my grandfather Frederick
Farnham Shaw b 8/21/1879, supposedly in Requa, Del Norte County, CA. His
father was Abisha B Shaw b. ~1826 in Maine, lived in Maine, served in the
Union Army during the Civil War and who was granted a homestead certification
#625 – applied for May 20, 1862.in the vicinity of Requa, Del Norte county.
I do not know the name of his wife/wives, nor siblings, and children. There
was some speculation about a brother Sam ( a sheriff or deputy sheriff),
a brother Frank and a sister Jessie, but that is not firmly known. Frederick
served in both the Spanish American war and the first World War. He married
an Elizabeth Gibson December 5, 1908 I believe and lived in the San Francisco
Bay Area for the rest of his life. He died 4/11/1944. Do you have any information
links that would be useful in finding more information about those relatives.
