Cold Springs Road, Placerville
Highway 50 east towards Placerville. Take the Forni Road exit and turn right at the stop sign. Follow the street around the curve and go through the two stop lights. You are now on Placerville Drive. Continue on Placerville Drive until you reach Pierroz Road, then turn left. Follow Pierroz to the stop sign and turn left, you are now on Cold Springs Road. Middletown Cemetery is just passed the funeral home on the left hand side (there is also one on the right). As soon as you see the funeral home slow down or you will miss it. There will be a rock wall on either side of the driveway.

Mr. Eguaras also sent along the following:

Richard Clifton was my gggrandfather and William Clifton was my ggrandfather. Mary Ann Clifton and Alice Jane were daughters of Richard Clifton.

My grandmother Ethel Maude (Clifton) Ward, Meyers was the daughter William Clifton and when her husband Sidney Athol Ward was killed on Caldoor train in 1929 she opened the Ward Grocery Store in Diamond Springs and sold it in 1945. When her husband killed she became a widow with 5 young children to support.

Other relatives include Sarah McCumsey, Al McCumsey, William McCumsey, Al McCumsey, Richard Allen Clifton, Alfred R Thiele, Herman Frederick Thiele, William Henry Clark, George Richard Clark, Alice Torrence and Franklin Torrence. I have taken pictures of the headstones of my family many years ago.

It would nice to identify the individuals buried in this cemetery, but, unfortunately, a lot of the headstones have been broken.
