COUNTY RANCHER TAKEN BY DEATH
John Kyburz Laid to Rest Wednesday in Rites at Folsom

John D. Kyburz, 74, holder and operator of extensive ranch properties in El Dorado and Sacramento Counties, who died early Monday morning at his home near Clarksville, was buried in the Masonic Cemetery at Folsom following funeral services there on Wednesday morning.

Mr. Kyburz' health had been failing for several months and the end was not unexpected.

Born in Sacramento
Born in Sacramento near the present intersection of Tenth and K Streets, John Kyburz had an early introduction to the livestock business. Although his birth-place is said to have been on or near the site of the present Vienna Cafe, on K near Tenth in Sacramento; the family moved a few years later to the present corner of Fifteenth and M Streets.

When "Dan" Kyburz and his brother, A. B. Kyburz, of Placerville, went out to bring in the cows for the night, they found them grazing in the acreage now occupied by the state capitol.

Holdings Extensive
When the opportunity for a private venture in livestock presented itself, "Dan" Kyburz was entirely in his own element. He acquired two extensive holdings south of Clarksville and also a large acreage in Lake Valley, raising both beef and dairy cattle.

He was a member of the Masonic fraternity.

Surviving are the widow, a son, George; a daughter, Mrs. Will Barton; a brother, A. B. Kyburz, and sister, Mrs. S. E. Kent, of Placerville; five grand-children, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
