Death of Mrs. Mary Dormody
On July 15th, Mary Dormody, wife of Wm. Dormody, died in Sacramento at the age of 42 years. Mrs. Dormody had been an invalid for 8 years, suffering from a complication of bowel troubles for which the most skilled physicians could give no permanent relief. Although a great sufferer, she bore her trials patiently and heroically and was the center about which clustered the hopes and ambitions of a husband and five devoted children; William, who holds a responsible position with Mebius & Drescher, wholesale grocers of Sacramento; Mary, who is in the employ of the Telephone Company; Jacob, Sadie and Wernon, a bright little fellow of eight years, who are still attending school duties.
Funeral services were held from the Sacramento Cathedral on July 18th where many of her friends since childhood gathered to pay a last tribute to a simple but helpful life. Interment was in East Lawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Dormody was born and grew to womanhood at Rose Springs, this county, where three brothers, Jacob Johnny and Frank Egger, and an aged father still reside. Wm Egger, of Plumas County, another brother was also with the family during their sad bereavement.
