Mrs. Nellie Dormody, Life-Long Resident, Suffers Fatal Attack
Final rites will be held in the Episcopal Church Friday for Mrs. Nellie E. Dormody, 89, life-long resident of Placerville, who died in a local hospital Tuesday following a heart attack.
The wife of the late L. J. Dormody, she was a retired schoolteacher. She was born in Placerville December 19, 1863.
Mrs. Dormody had served as state treasurer of the Federation of Women’s Clubs, three terms as president of the Placerville Shakespeare Club, and as trustee of the Placerville Grammar School.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Helen D. Crystal of Placerville, Dr. Harold Dormody of Carmel and D. Hugh F. Dormody of Monterey; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was the cousin of Alma Hardie of Sacramento and Henry and Perry Tracy.
Rev. Lester V. Wiley will conduct the funeral services at two p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
