John Henry Miller and his wife Susan Sherer were born in 1827/1828 in Bavaria or Baden Baden, Germany. Their son John was born there in 1848, then they went to Philadelphia, Penn. where son Jacob and daughter Sophia Amelia were born in 1852 and 1854. Then to CA, settling in Cold Springs, El Dorado, CA where son Henry was born in 1857. He was a baker, died in abt 1880's, she died 10 Feb 1909 in Cold Springs, El Dorado Co.
Sophia Amelia Miller md. 1. John Lotta who died. She md. 2. Jacob Bergantz, b. 15 Jul 1829 in Niefern, Bas-Rhin, France. It was in Alsace which was once Germany. They had 13 children, lived in Carson City, Nevada and Cold Springs, El Dorado Co. Their son, Fred Bergantz was my grandfather and md. Freda Margaret "Winifred" Gooch b. 7 Jun 1895 Telluride, San Miguel, Colorado to Charles Vernon Gooch and Lulu Ethel Weeks.
