I am researching the Almon J. Brewster family from Placerville. I understand that Almon went to Placerville around 1910, and purchased a blacksmith shop. I gleaned a lot of information from Ancestry.com Historical Newspapers, but unfortunately, they are missing the Placerville issues from 1924 to 1944 when there were a lot of changes in his life. Apparently during that time, Almon left Placerville for a time, but his wife and family stayed. I don't know when, but he bought a Stanley Steamer and ferried passengers from Placerville to Lake Tahoe. Later on he started the Brewster Auto Court. I know so little about my mother's family and would appreciate any information.
