John Eagle, of Ashland County Ohio, came to Diamond Springs Gold Camp in 1851 and stayed 10 years. In late 1851 he worked as a butcher to provide fresh meat. He had mining claims, but nothing is known of his success. He is listed as still in Diamond Springs in the 1860 census.
