I am seeking information on Benjamin Green and family. Benjamin appears on the 1880 census of Placerville with three of his sons--George, Thomas, and Henry. He was widowed by this time and his profession was gunsmith. He was 71 years old and born in Kentucky. Two of the sons were gold miners.
Benjamin married Isabella Hugill at Platteville, Wisconsin in December 1834. They were the parents of a number of children: Benjamin F., Caroline, Ellen, George W., Isabella, Elizabeth, Thomas Y., and Henry. All except Henry were born in Wiaconsin by 1853. Henry was born in 1857 in California.
George is married in 1880 to Alameda with two children, Benjamin and Mary.
I have no other information on any of these people and am desperately seeking any and all help. I have strong reason to believe that Benjamin (the eldest!) was a brother to Robert Robinson Green, my ggggrandfather and a brick wall that has stood for many, many years!
