Stephen Oakes shown in El Dorado Census in 1850. This is his obituary from LaPorte IN. Would someone look on this day for a death certificate or an obit.
July 9, 1851
DEATH: On his return home from California on the Pacific, on board the Brigg
"Anna", latitude north 3 degrees 38" longitude west 138 degrees, Dr Stephen
Oaks of this place, age 28 years, 4 months and 19 days. Dr Oaks left this
place in the company with several others for California, two years ago last
spring.
