A Tribute of Respect In the departure of Mrs. Chalfant, Bishop has lost one of her best women. Not from the outer and more observed circle of society; but from the under strata of supporting strength, from the under current of moral worth, which circulates and permeates in its upward tendency, the community life; that influence, for the lack of which the besom of destruction which swept Sodom from the face of the earth was not stayed. She talked with God, not upon the house-top but within her inner chamber, concerning the interests of home, community and church life. To know her desires and aspirations was to love her. If "they are all ministering spirits," if there be truth in the wodern(orig. sp.) telepathic theories, may we not still feel and share the influence though unseen and unheard, of her sainted spirit? We rejoice in her acquisition, while we feel a deep sence of sorrow in our loss. We shall miss her. ONE WHO APPRECIATED HER.
