Near Bishop Creek, January 18th, 1887, Albert Wayland, a native of Virginia, aged 70 years. ["An honest man is the noblest work of God." The deceased was one of God's noble creations. His life was a sermon, and one that all who knew him could read and understand. His illness first commenced in a serious form in the early part of last summer, and for some months but small hopes were entertained of his recovery. He rallied, however, and though not enjoying perfect health, was able to be about up to the very time of his death. He had been a resident of this county for some eighteen years, and of this immediate vicinity for about nine years. He leaves a wife and three daughters to mourn his loss, while all who ever knew him sympathize with them in their sorrow. In closing this tribute crude though it may be, it is meet to say that but few men have led purer and more Christian lives than Albert Wayland.] The Inyo Register Bishop, Inyo County, California Thursday, January 20, 1887 Transcribed by Pat Houser for Inyo County GenWeb, September 17, 2004
