Andrew Ryan Wethern

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 
at the Lakeside Community Church of Religious Science on 
Lakeside Drive in Reno, Nev. for former Bishop resident 
Andrew Ryan Wethern, who died Feb. 3, 2003 at his home in 
Reno. He was 34.

Andrew grew up in Bishop, attending Round Valley and Bishop 
schools until his graduation from Bishop Union High School 
in 1985. He acquired a degree from San Diego State, and 
moved to Maui, where he made his home for seven years before 
returning to the mainland to obtain a degree in culinary 
arts.

He worked as an executive chef in Cambria, Las Vegas, Nev. 
and finally Reno, Nev. Andrew traveled extensively but his 
goal was always to return to the island that he loved.

He is survived by mother, Sue Hook; stepdad, Bob Hook; 
father, Greg Wethern; brother, Jason Wethern and 
sister-in-law, Debbie Wethern; nephew, Taylor; niece, 
Alexa; grandfather, Reg Perkins; cousins, aunts, uncles 
and many, many friends.
