Arlene Morgan A luncheon celebration of life will be held for 21-year Fallon resident Arlene Morgan, 82, on Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Multi-purpose Building at 225 Sheckler Rd. in Nevada at 11 a.m. Born to Everett and Nellie Bailey in Winterset, Iowa on Nov. 23, 1920, Mrs. Morgan died on Jan. 4, 2003. At the age of 20, she left Winterset and moved to Los Angeles, where she spent the next 16 years. She then moved to the Owens Valley, where she and her sister managed the Ranch House in Olancha. She met and married Bruce Morgan in 1958 and raised their daughters in Lone Pine. She was very active in the 4-H program. In 1982, she moved to Fallon, where she spent the rest of her years. Arlene was a lively, spirited gal with a generous heart. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like spring flowers in bloom, craft fairs, country music, cats, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and playing video poker. She lived a long, full, sometimes trying life and she did it with zest. In fact, she often ate dessert for breakfast! Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Henry Bailey; sister, Evelyn Howard; stepdaughters, Barbara Jefferson and Enid Hanson; and stepson, Charles Morgan. She is survived by daughter, Denise Kirby of Truckee; daughter, Amber Morgan of Fallon; granddaughter, Hope Paschal of Fallon; sister, Wilma Olson of Loomis, Calif.; brother, Lloyd Bailey of New Orleans; stepson, Richard Morgan of Auburn, Calif.; stepdaughter, Roberta Peters of Minden; numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Arlene's name to Churchill Animal Protection Society at 2390 S. Crook Rd., Fallon, NV, 89406.
