Arthur Phelps Arthur H. Phelps, a native of Bishop, died in Burlingame, on June 17, after a long illness. He resided in Millbrae. Mr. Phelps was born January 5, 1902, on the old Homer Plumley ranch, now a part of the Bishop Airport. He was the son of Charles L. Phelps, pioneer teamster, and Katherine Phelps. After graduating from Bishop Union High School he was graduated from the University of Southern California as an electrical engineer. He was sent by Westinghouse Electrical Corporation to their school in Pittsburg, and was in their San Francisco office for more than 40 years. Mr. Phelps was married to Dolores Sanchez, of Managua, Nicaragua, in 1929. Mrs. Phelps and their daughter Lolita, survive him. He is also survived by his sister Mrs. Margaret Wilson, and brother Ray W. Phelps, both of Bishop, also four nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lyndon J. Phelps.
