A 16-month-old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Kirchner, immigrants on their way here from 
southern California, met an awful (??)th at Independence Saturday morning.  The mother 
was playing with the child when it jumped from her arms and fell under the wheels of 
the wagon on which they were riding.  The wheel passed over its head, instantly 
crushing out it's little life.
