MRS. BIRDIE RICHIE

The latest death, within our knowledge, was that of Mrs. 
Birdie Cruse Richie, last evening.  She too was a victim 
of influenza.

Mrs. Richie was a native of Texas, in which state she 
was born August 14, 1883.  Three years later her parents, 
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Cruse, came to California, and to 
Bishop in 1893.  She was married to Herbert H. Richie in 
Los Angeles in 1909.  It has been about a year and a half 
since she returned to Bishop, which has since been her 
home.

The remaining members of the family are two sisters, Mrs. 
Mary E. Hammarborg and Mrs T. F Hutchison, and two 
brothers, W. D. Cruse and George Cruse.

Her deplorable loss is made if possible even more sad by 
its being the second within the same family circle within 
a few days, the late Mrs. Elmer Summers being her 
brother’s daughter.  Their afflictions have the deepest 
sympathy of a large circle of frinnds (orig. sp.).
