Charles 'Chuck' Chitty Graveside funeral services for Bishop resident Charles "Chuck" Chitty, 71, will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2:30 p.m. at the East Line Street Cemetery. The Bishop Elks Lodge #1603 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8988 will officiate. Mr. Chitty was born in Everett, Wash. On Nov. 5, 1921. A Bishop resident for eight years, he was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, #1603, Bishop; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8988, Bishop; and the American Legion Post of Los Angeles. Mr. Chitty died Aug. 7 at his home in Bishop. Survivors include his wife, June H. Chitty of Bishop; son, Robert Chitty of West Hills, Calif.; daughter, Debbie Walker of Descanso, Calif.; step-sons, Donald Smith of Moorepark, Calif. And Gary Smith of Bishop; sister-in-law, Joyce Paulin of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
