Clarence F. Ives Funeral services were held Jan. 16 for Clarence F. Ives of Bishop, following his death Jan. 12 at Sierra House South in Lone Pine. He was 84. The Rev. Ron T. Roberts of the First United Methodist Church and Wilfred Partridge, inspector, 500th Masonic District, officiated at the service, held at Brune Buck Chapel. Burial was in East Line Cemetery. Mr. Ives was born Dec. 12, 1899, in Ogden, Utah. The Ives family moved to Los Angeles in 1914 and Clarence later homesteaded in the Inyokern area. Mr. Ives operated several businesses in Inyokern the next several years. He also organized the Inyokern Volunteer Fire Department, and was the department chief for many years. After his retirement, Mr. Ives and his wife moved to the Bishop area and built a cabin on Bishop Creek at Aspendell. Mr. Ives is suravived by his wife, Gladys of Bishop; one son, Lindsay C. Ives of Northridge, Ca.; two daughters, Claudine McAlexander of Saratoga, Ca., and Norma V. Wail of Elk Grove; one brother, Harold Ives of Laguna Beach, Ca.; two sisters, Edith Hill of Long Beach and Ruth Bennett of San Marcos, Ca.; 10 grandchildren and great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Tony Alva, Jack Bell, Jim Gramicko, Dr. Ed Bulpitt, Bill Whorff and Larry Rafferty. Honorary pallbearers were Bev Clark, Lou Havlik, and Dr. Bob Denton. The family suggests that those wishing to make a contribution of their favorite charity in memory of Clarence Ives.
