Tues. Services Last Tribute to Edna Butler Edna Keough Butler passed away at Idylwood Hospital in Sunnyvale, Calif., Sept. 1, following a prolonged illness. Services were conducted at 10 a.m. at the Bishop Episcopal Church with Rev. Putney officiating on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Burial followed in the family plot at Pioneer Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Wm. J. Young, Louie Arcularius, Lawrence Taylor, Rollin Bell, Robert Collins and Lester Cline while the honorary pallbearer list included: Fred Brooks, Richie Conway, W????d Dixon, ???? Bulpit, Ed R. Bulpit, Lewis Bulpit, George Clarkson and Robert Denton. Mrs. Butler was born in Bishop Aug. 19, 1880, youngest of a family of four. Her father was Philip P. Butler [wonder if this should be Philip P. Keough?], mother Laura Hall and brothers and sisters: George C. Keough, Millard Keough and Karl P. Keough, all well known names in the past of Bishop. Deceased was married to Frank J. Butler in 1911 and to the marriage was born: Belle B. Scott of Palo Alto; Robert M. Butler of Stanford; Frank J. Butler and Philip Butler, both of Bishop. Five grandchildren are also listed: Helen R. Bogner, Donald L. Scott, Suzanne, Judith and Virginia Butler. Martin Bogner, a great-grandchild also survives. Deceased had formerly entered into many activities of the community with attendance in the Athena Club, Mt. Whitney Chapter 197, O. E. S., Episcopal Church, was one of the founders of a Rainbow for Girls Chapter and served in several levels of the Republican Party.
