Mrs. Eileen Summers “He reaps the bearded grain at a breath, And the flowers that grow between.” After medical skill said that no more could be done for her, then rallying until thought to be on the way to recovery, Mrs. Elmer Summers passed away early Saturday morning. Eileen Eleanor Summers was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. D. Cruse, and was born in Mojave October 20, 1898. She grew to young womanhood in this valley. Last year she entered the employment of the Interstate Telegraph Company. During that employment she passed through a siege of pneumonia, which may have predisposed to this fatal attack. May 26th she became the bride of Elmer Summers, who was about to be called for military service. Mrs. Summers won the affection of all who knew her, for her womanliness, gentleness, helpfulness and kindness of nature. She was held in high regard by all, and many friends watched with deepest sympathy her struggle for those finest years of her life that should have been hers. Every loving care was given, but its reward in her restoration to health was not to be.
