Elsa H. Hedgecock
1911-2004

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at the East Line 
Street Cemetery in Bishop for five-year Grass Valley resident Elsa H. Hedgecock.  
The Order of the Eastern Star will officiate.  Interment will be private.

The service will be followed by a memorial service at the First Presbyterian 
Church at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6.  Rev. Dan Willson will officiate.

Elsa was born in Waukegan, Ill. on Nov. 26, 1911 and died on Oct. 27, 2004 in 
Grass Valley.  She was 92.

Elsa obtained her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Arizona.  She taught 
school in Big Pine for seven years before taking a position at Bishop Union High 
School, where she taught for 18 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard W. Hedgecock, who died in 
1978.

Elsa is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Mike Connor of 
Penn Valley; son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Pamela Hedgecock of Lake 
Charles, La.; grandchildren, Casey Connor of Carson City, Nev., Steve Connor of 
El Dorado Hills, Jason Hedgecock of Atlanta, Ga., Sean Hedgecock of Lake 
Charles, La. and Ryan Hedgecock of Austin, Texas; and three great-grandchildren.

Donations in Elsa's memory may be made to the Faculty Scholarship Fund, care of 
Bishop Union High School.
