Emma Estella Callaway

Funeral services were held Saturday in Chico for 
Emma Estella Callaway, 94 former Independence 
resident who died Friday.

Mrs. Callaway was born Feb. 13, 1880, to Mr. and 
Mrs. Elijah Robinson of Independence.  She married 
John D. Callaway in Independence in 1903.

The Callaways moved to Gridley in 1948 and settled 
in Chico in 1963.  Her husband died in 1966.

Mrs. Callaway is survived by her son, Arthur, of 
Chico, and two grandchildren.
