Marion Troglin Ernest Zucco Eugene Zucco Charles Newton Funeral services were conducted at Independence Saturday for Marion Dan Troglin and on Monday for Ernest P. and Eugene P. Zucco, three of the four men killed in the Thanksgiving eve collision of a car and truck near Independence. The service for Mr. Troglin, a construction equipment serviceman for the Department of Water and Power, was held at graveside in the Independence cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Charles Mitchell officiating. Mr. Troglin, a veteran of the Vietnam conflict was born in California February 7, 1946, and lived at 245 Washington street, Independence. He is survived by his wife Mary, a dughter, Mandy Sue; his mother, Elizabeth Troglin of Independence; two brothers Steve Troglin of Independence and Wayne Williamson of Lone Pine; three sisters, Joann Esque and Elizabeth Faisey of Independence and Martha McShirley of Oklahoma. A double service was conducted in Pioneer Memorial Methodist church Monday at 2 p.m. for the Zucco brothers, with the Rev. Mr. Mitchell and Father Foley officiating. Interment was in the Independence cemetery. Ernest Zucco a resident of Inglewood was born in Bakersfield September 13, 1939, and had been a steamfitter for an Inglewood contractor for 10 years. Survivors are his wife, Marian; a son, Ernest C.; daughters, Gina A. and Julie Ann; his mother, Helen Zucco of Independence, and a brother, Richard of Bakersfield. Eugene Zucco, who was born in Lone Pine October 31, 1942, was a resident of Fort Independence and had been a miner for the past 10 years. Unmarried, he is survived by the mother and brother. A funeral service was held Tuesday at Riverside for Charles G. Newton, 43, the truck driver who died in the accident. He had been a driver for 25 years. Survivors are his wife Fay, and three children. Arrangements for all of the four victims were in charge of Owens Valley Mortuary.
