Evelyn Berniece Flowers

Former Independence resident Evelyn Berniece Flowers, 81,
died Nov. 22, 2002 at her home in Carlsbad, Calif.

she was a resident of Independence from 1967 to 1987 and 
was a past Grand Matron of the Kearsage Chapter #378 of the
Eastern Star.  Her husband Fred was a former Inyo County
Treasurer-Tax Collector.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred Flowers;
daughters, Toni Grow of Michigan, Michele Baskey of Ohio, and
Kim Flowers of Oregon; grandchildren, Adam Grow, Meredith Grow
and Travis Wise; and sisters Verda Davidson and Mabel Baker.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer 
Society.
