Funeral Set Dec. 20 For Floyd A. Elston

Funeral services will be held Friday noon, Dec. 20, at the Latter-Day Saints Church, Hillvick Ave., 
East Los Angeles, for Floyd A. Elston, 65, long-time Inyo-Mono resident who passed away at noon 
Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Long Beach Naval Hospital.

He had been confined to the hospital at Bishop and Long Beach for the past year and a half.

"Monk," as he was known to his many friends, was born in San Bernardino, and came to Owens Valley 
when two years old.  He was in the Navy in World War I, and generally had followed ranching most of 
his life in this area.

In later years he was a fishing guide for McGee Creek Lodge on Crowley Lake.  

He is survived by his wife, Lydia.
