Frances V. Sausa 1915 - 2003 Memorial services for former 61 - year Bishop resident Frances Vanscoyoc Sausa, 88, will be held on Friday, May 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bishop at 11 a.m. Pastor Daniel Willson will officiate. Additionally, viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8, at the Brune and Buck Mortuary Chapel from 7 -9 p.m. Born in Laverne, Okla. On April 20, 1915, Mrs. Sausa died on May 2, 2003 at her home in Scottsdale, Ariz. Frances graduated from Chillicothe Business School in Missouri. After graduation, she was employed as a bookkeeper and secretary for U.S. Vanadium in Uravan, Colo., where she met Laurence Sausa. They were married in 1940 and made their home in Bishop. She continued working for U. S. Vanadium until their first daughter was born. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Lawrence Hampton of Scottsdale, Gretchen and Robert Beach of Bishop, and Jane and Vaughn Walkup of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Steve, Brian and Curtis Hampton, Carson, Tracy, and Travis Beach, and Lauren and Alison Walkup; and great-grandchildren, Alexa and Aiden Hampton. The family has asked that donations in her name be made to "The Piano Fund" at the First Presbyterian Church, 585 N. Main St., Bishop, CA 93514.
