Gayle Douglas Murphy
1928 - 2003

Services will be held for former Bishop resident Gayle Douglas Murphy, 
74, on Thursday, March 27, at the Click Funeral Home Chapel in Lenoir 
City, TN at 3 p.m.  Reverend Cecil Thompson will officiate.

Born Sept. 11, 1928 in Joplin, MS.  Mr. Murphy died at the Parkway 
Medical Center on March 25, 2003.

Mr. Murphy, a Baptist, was a United States Army veteran of the Korean 
War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Mona Murphy; 
sisters, Ima Lou Timmons and Norma Cunningham; brothers, Keith, Melvin 
and Aubrey; and a grandson.

Gayle is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dorka Murphy; son, Mike 
Murphy of Bishop; daughters, Kay Marie Murphy of Bishop and Diane 
Murphy of Beaverton, OR; brothers, Bill Murphy and wife Diane of Lenoir 
City, Edward Murphy and wife Barbara of California; sisters, Frances 
Timmons and Willa Dean Stewart of California; five grandchildren, 
several nieces and nephews, an extended family and friends. 

Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery.
