Genevieve Hansen Morhardt Genevieve Hansen Morhardt, 81, died last week. Born in Pasadena, Mrs.Morhardt was a graduate of the Broadoaks Kindergarten Training School in 1924. She headed the first kindergarten in San Marino, Calif., where she taught until 1934; when, following her marriage to J. Emil Morhardt, she traveled extensively, and in 1938 followed him to Bishop. In Bishop Mrs. Morhardt substituted under Maude Truscott until her children, Josef Emil and Kimberly were in school. At that time she accepted a full-time position, teaching until her retirement in 1969. It was Mrs. Morhardt's firm desire from her youth to be a kindergarten teacher, and the community of Bishop will attest to her success, both in her field and in the way she shared herself in many ways beyond the classroom. Self-effacing, gentle and kind, she will long be remembered here. Mrs. Morhardt leaves behind a sister, Mrs. Leonard Stevenson of Pasadena; her husband 'Aim' their two children and one grandchild of each sibling; and Melissa Camille and Alyssa Briana. A memorial service for Mrs. Morhardt will be scheduled at a later date in St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
