Putnam Services Held Saturday At Beverly Hills Tex Tarlton, member of the Lone Pine Lions club and a neighbor of the late George Palmer Putnam at Whitney Portal, told club members this week of the funeral services last Saturday held in Beverly Hills for the major. He explained that the services were private and that only a few close friends of the family attended in addition(orig. sp.) to family members. Major Putnam’s two sons from Florida, Mrs. Putnam and her father, from Indiana, made up the family group. Tarlton said that impressive services were read by a Beverly Hills minister and were followed by a resume of the major’s life, given by the writer and close firend, Rex Miller. Tarlton emphasized that floral offerings from friends were magnificent and were much appreciated by the family. At this week’s meeting of the Lone Pine service club, of which George Palmer Putnam was a member, members stood in silent respect to his memory.
