Gloria Claire Ralston 1929 - 2003 Gloria Claire Ralston died peacefully at the Olive Ridge Care Center in Oroville, Calif. On Tuesday, April 29, 2003, after an extended battle with heart disease. No services were announced. Born on Nov. 1, 1929 in Golden, Colo. To Burall and Addie Irland, Mrs. Ralston lived in Nebraska and Southern California before moving to Big Pine with her family in 1965. While in Big Pine, Gloria and husband Richard Ralston owned and operated Marie's Diner restaurant. Subsequently, Gloria and her family moved to Bishop in 1973 and worked for the Inyo County Department of Health and Human Services. She and her family moved to Oroville in 1975, where she worked for the Butte County District Attorney's Office/Family Support Division until she retired. Throughout her life, Gloria had an unwavering devotion to the well being hopes and dreams of family members and friends. She maintained an avid interest in political issues, the arts, the environment, and all manner of outdoor pursuits including gardening, camping, fishing, hiking and bird watching. Gloria will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Ralston of Oroville; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dixie Ralston of Carlsbad; son and daughter-in-law, William and Debra Ralston of Big Pine; son, Timothy Ralston of Murrieta, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Stacey Ralston of Ramona, Calif.; sister Barbara Meyer of Los Osos, Calif.; in-laws, Milton and Marie Danielson of Victorville; cousin, Larry Ready of Longmont, Colo; grandchildren, Samuel Ralston, Breeanna Ralston and Travis Ralston and Alex Ralston.
