Final Rites Held For Harold Schober Funeral services were held Dec. 26 at Blake Funeral Chapel, Bishop for Harold Glenn Schober, 52, with the Rev. Howard Rosine of Bishop Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the family plot at Pioneer Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lester Parent, Alfred Shelley, Harry Martyn, Lewis Knighton, Jack Tatum, and Doug Merrill. Mr. Schober passed away Dec. 22 at Orland, where he had resided in recent years. He was born in Bishop March 30, 1907 and lived in this area most of his life. He attended Sunland grammar school and graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1926. After attending Davis College and operating a meat market in Bishop, he operated Schober’s Mountain Ranch on Bishop Creek. He sold the Bishop Creek Ranch in 1944 after returning from the Army, and left for Gardnerville, Nev., where he was engaged in ranching for some years, later ranching in Orland. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, who was unable to attend the funeral as she was in the Glen Hospital at the time of his death; two brothers, John of San Diego and Art of Bishop; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Tatum and Mrs. Mildred Merrill of Bishop, and Mrs. Laura Carlyle of South Pasadena; a many nieces and nephews. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Lansford of Alhambra, parents of Ruth Schober, left for Orland immediately after the funeral to be with their daughter.
