Harry B. Tubbs 1923-2003 Graveside funeral services will be held for 18-year Bishop and Big Pine resident Harry B. Tubbs, 80, on Sunday, April 13, at the Big Pine Cemetery in Big Pine at 1 p.m. Pastor Jerry Casteel of the First Southern Baptist Church will officiate. Born in Pasadena on Jan. 26, 1923, Mr. Tubbs died on April 4, 2003 at his home in Bishop. He served in the Army Air Corps, 5th Air Force 312th Bomb Group in World War II, spending 3 1/2 years in the South Pacific. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Pasadena Post and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He married his wife, Doris, in 1943. Harry also served on the Board of Directors for Northern Inyo Hospital for 11 years. Harry is survived by his wife, Doris Tubbs of Bishop; daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Dave Carney of Bishop; son, Michael Tubbs of Bishop; grandchildren, Ryan and wife Jill of Riverside, Adam Tubbs of Riverside and daughter-in-law, Leah Tubbs of Bishop.
