Surviving are his wife, LeClaire B. Fierstine; a son, Harry L. Fierstine, who is a student at UCLA; and a daughter, Gail, this year's Miss Inyo County, and now a student at Long Beach State College. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Margaret Porter of Long Beach, and three brothers, Dudley, Ross and Dan, all of Iowa. The Fierstines moved from Michigan to Long Beach where they operated a restaurant for 18 years before coming to Bishop in February, 1945. They purchased Sink's Café in Bishop and the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Sink on McLaren Lane. Later they purchased Inyo Market on E. Line St. from Walter Tibbals and operated that firm until they purchased Meadow Farms Country Store from Joe Basola. About 3 1/2 years ago they opened the new Harry's Café at 150 N. Main St. and just recently had opened their new upstairs banquet room. Mr. Fierstine was a member of Bishop Rotary Club, Inyo-Mono Shrine Club, Al Malaikah Shrine Temple, Knights Templar of Long Beach, as well as Bishop Elks Lodge. Dave Bromley and Clark Conder gave tributes in his memory at last Tuesday's Bishop Rotary Club meeting.
