Helen M. Lumpkin Helen M. Lumpkin, a former resident of the Bishop area and former owner of McGee Creek Pack Station, died Jan. 2 in a Campbell, Calif., convalescent hospital. She was 79. She was a native of Kansas. She had been in Campbell for about a year and had lived in Santa Cruz since retirement in 1963. She also had been a professional musician in her early life. Mrs. Lumpkin is survived by one daughter, Betty Lumpkin of Redwood City; and a son, Robert Lumpkin of Bishop. At Mrs. Lumpkin's request, no funeral service was held.
