Darwin Man Dies Friday Following Wreck Near Keeler Howard Thomas, 43-year old resident of Darwin, died at the Southern Inyo hospital last Friday and three others were recovering from injuries following an auto accident approximately 1.5 miles north of Keeler about 5:30 that afternoon. According to California Highway Patrol officers Thomas lost control of his car, which overturned approximately six times. The vehicle was demolished. Thomas and Roland Hewitt also of Darwin were rushed to the Southern Inyo hospital by ambulance and the other two passengers, Cora Hewitt and James L. Jones were taken to the hospital by passing motorists. Thomas employed by Anaconda Copper Mining Co., is survived by his widow, Daphne. His body was sent to Redding for funeral services.
