Funeral Services Held Saturday for Jack E. Cathey

Funeral services were held at the Church of the Nazarene in Lone Pine Saturday for Jack Edwin 
Cathey, prominent Lone Pine resident, who died June 13 at the Southern Inyo Hospital following 
a heart attack.

Mr. Cathey was born January 27, 1915, at Candler, N. C., and had lived the past 7 years at 
Lone Pine where he operated the Jack's Gateway Coffee Shops and a bakery.

Mr. Cathey is survived by his wife Doris, a daughter Joan; a brother, Dave Cathey of 
Sacramento; three sisters, Mrs. Ora Galley of Inglewood, Miss Hesteen Cathey of Glendale, and 
Mrs. Juanita Parks of Montrose.

Following services at Lone Pine under direction of the Don Talmage mortuary of Bishop, he was 
taken to the Lamb's Mortuary in Pasadena and services were held 1:30 Monday, June 18, at the 
Church of the Nazarene at Pasadena with the Rev. Ellis and the Rev. Bill Prince officiating.

Interment was at the Forest Lawn cemetery in the family plot.
