Tragedy Comes For Former Inyoites Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Shirley Grob, wife of Fred Grob of Fallon, who was accidentally electrocuted at her home in that city Thanksgiving night, will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at Fallon, under direction of the Eastern Star. The interment will be in the family plot in Mountain View cemetery at Reno Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Grob was killed when an electric heater fell from a shelf into the tub of water in which she was bathing. Members of the family heard her cry and rushed into the bathroom. She was dead when they reached her, and death is believed to have been instantaneous. A member of a pioneer Nevada family, Mrs. Grob was widely known throughout western Nevada. She was prominent in social life of Fallon and active in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was past matron of Adah chapter of Reno and was identified with grand chapter affairs. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps. Mrs. Grob, who was a sister of postmaster A. A. Shirley of Bishop, spent part of her girlhood here. Here parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shirley, and family came here from Nevada about 45 years ago. The deceased began a teaching career, serving in different Inyo school, and was married here to Fred Grob, whose business in later years has been contracting. She was a woman of the highest character, and news of her death came as a shock to many old-time friends in whose memories she is still held as honored place.
