John C. “Stretch” Vallier

Funeral services were held April 28 for John C. “Stretch” Vallier, 46, of 
Bishop, following his death from cancer April 24 at Stanford Medical Center in 
Palo Alto.

Bishop Elks Lodge No. 1603 and V.F.W. post 8988 officiated at the service, held 
at graveside.  Burial was in East Line St. Cemetery.

Mr. Vallier was born Jan. 30, 1934 in Booneville, CA.  He is survived by his 
wife, Donna Vallier of Bishop; three daughters, Ilene and Regina Vallier and Ann 
Myers, all of Bishop; two sisters, Sherly  McCord of Calpella, and Zoe Boyce of 
Potter Valley; one great uncle, Lester Vivins of Booneville; and numerous nieces 
and nephews.

He had been a staff member of Caltrans, and a long time member of E Clampus 
Vitus, historical and humbug society.
