Funeral Services Held Wed. for Mrs. Spainhower Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for this week for Mrs. Katherine Spainhower who died July 7, at the Southern Inyo Hospital. Mrs. Spainhower, well known Owens Valley pioneer, was born in Greenville, Calif., July 3, 1884 and has lived in Inyo county for the past 77 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jean Noland of Lone Pine and Mrs. Joy Henderson of China Lake; five grandchildren, Tom Russell Noland, Patrick Noland, and Jerre Noland of Lone Pine, and Katherine Henderson and Jean Gay Henderson of China Lake; one cousin, Harry I. Mack of Lone Pine. She had been a teacher in Owens Valley for many years and she and her husband owned the Spainhower ranch at Lone Pine. Services were conducted at the Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Robert Slocum officiating. Interment followed at the Independence cemetery.
