Lawrence 'Larry' David Stratton Private services will be held for former Bishop resident Lawrence "Larry" David Stratton, 78. Born in Los Angeles on Aug. 28, 1924 to George Stratton and Thelma Griffith, Mr. Stratton died on Dec. 22 in Gardnerville. He and his wife, Nadine, owned Cardinal Village Resort in Bishop for 17 years before moving to Carson city in 1985, Grants Pass, Ore. in 1992 and then Wellington, Nev. in 2001. He was also the owner of "Larry Stratton Tile Contractor", where he met many people through his tile work. Larry's loves of his life were his wife and family, his garden, fishing and his domestic birds. He served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1943-1945 as a tail gunner/radioman on a PBY flying boat. He served stateside with his crew, training new pilots. He had hand orders to go overseas to join the war effort when the war ended. "We will miss Dad's dry sense of humor and loving support of our paths in life," his family said. Larry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nadine, of Wellington; son, Harold Stratton and wife Linda of Las Vegas, son, Patrick Stratton and wife Michelle of Stagecoach, Nev., son James Stratton of Bishop; daughter, Leslie Linson of Las Vegas, daughter, Teri Burgess and boyfriend Gary Williams of Bishop, daughter, Debra Jackson and husband Keith of Bishop; 15 gradnchildren and nine great-grandcildren.
