Leroy C. McLaren Many friends deplore the passing of Leroy C. McLaren, who died early last Friday morning, from a heart attack which came upon him several days earlier. Roy, as he was generally called, was born October 27, 1880, at the family home in West Bishop. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. William McLaren, who became Owens Valley residents before the great earthquake of 1872. He lived in this community all his days, except for brief occupation elsewhere. As boy and as man he won friends for his excellent character and for his genial nature. His only fraternal tie was as a member of the Woodsmen of the World. That order gave its farewell tribute at the graveside Sunday afternoon, following a service conducted by Rev. C. M. Bacon in Albright Memorial Chapel. Those surviving are his widow Mrs. Nellie McLaren, their son Leroy junior, a stepdaughter, Mrs. P. L. Smith, of Keeler, and three sisters, Mrs. Lula Cox, Mrs. Stella Shepard and Mrs. Zelma Nelligan, all of Bishop.
