Pioneer Resident Passes in Merced News has been received here of the passing of a pioneer resident of Bishop, Mabel B. Clarke, on Tuesday, July 16 at a hospital in Merced. Services will be held Friday, July 19, at Ivers and Alcorn Mortuary Mortuary in Merced at 1:30 p.m. Mrs. Clarke was born in Independence Nov. 10, 1875, and came to Bishop with her parents in 1885. She was married to George A. Clarke in 1902. The family moved to the Merced area in 1926. The deceased is survived by her husband, George A. Clarke; daughters, Mrs. Enid Cartwright, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Vera Frohwerk, Portland, Ore.; sons, Kenneth G. Clarke, Bakersfield; Warren C. Clarke, Planada, Calif.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Nelligan, Riverside, and Mrs. Blanche Wheeler of Planada. A sister-in-law is Mrs. W. A. Chalfant of Bishop.
