Final Rites Held Last Saturday for Margaret Loundagin Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ethel Loundagin, 78, resident of Independence since 1922, were held last Saturday morning at Pioneer Memorial Church, with the Rev. Byron D. Haines, officiating. Interment was in Independence cemetery. Pallbearers were John Thompson, Omie Mairs, Sid Paratt, Frank Lawrence, Fred Schaefer, and Gordon Lee Hutchison. Pete Mairs and Frank Krater were honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Loundagin passed away suddenly the night of August 30 at Southern Inyo Hospital, after being stricken at her home in Independence.. She was born April 17, 1882 in Union, Ore., and moved with her husband Dr. J. A. Loundagin to Independence in 1922. For the past many years she had made her home with her son, Bob, and daughter-in-law Agnes in Independence. She had been active in the Rebekah Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Vervine Club, "C" Club and the Birthday Club. Three sons were born to the marriage of Dr. and Mrs. Loundagin, James and Nick have passed on in recent years. Also surviving in addition to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Loundagin, are a daughter-in-law, Nellie Loundagin of Bishop, and grandson, Jim and granddaughter Judy; and another granddaughter, Mrs. Joan Volz, of San Marino and a grandson, Nick Loudagin Jr., of Wyoming.
