Marjory May Morris 1924-2004 A graveside funeral service will be held at East Line Street Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19 for 35-year Bishop resident Marjory May Morris. Pastor Chris Costello will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the Brune & Buck Mortuary. Born in Buena Vista, Colo. on May 3, 1924, Marjory died on Nov. 14, 2004 at Northern Inyo Hospital in Bishop. She was 80. In 1972 Marjory became the first female member of Search & Rescue. She was also a member of the women’s softball team and a member and dispatcher of the Benton Fire Department. She is survived by her husband, Robert K. Morris of Bishop; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Mary Morris of Bishop; brother and sister-in-law, Chuck and Betty Potterville of Chalfant Valley; sister, June Phillips of Ontario; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Anderson of Atascadero; grandchildren, Shawna and Loren Kane, Joel and Tamalyn Cabezuela, Aaron and Andrea Morris, Ronald and Mitsie Morris and Brian and Nikki Macarelle and family.
